NOTES about Fees for Academic Year weekly classes:
$15 annual registration fee (covers machine maintenance and sewing basket notions) payable at first lesson of the academic year
$50/month flat rate tuition payable at first lesson of every month for a one-hour weekly class.
$35 one-time fee for pattern book and sewing directions for 8 projects (enough for academic year)
Optional: $31 fee for craft pattern book if you don't already have it (fun to have to intersperse in between regular projects and around the holidays for gifts but not essential as I have quite a few free patterns)
Notes about Skill Level:
All skill levels from absolute beginner to intermediate will find a niche at The Happy Pin. I currently have students beginning their third year in a five-year curriculum and students who first sat down in front of a sewing machine just a few months ago. Each students works independently and small class size (maximum 3 students) ensures personalized instruction and assistance when needed. Current student ages range from 8 to 40, but I have had younger and I have had older!
Holiday Gift Camp (coming this Fall!)
Let me know if there's something particular that you'd like to see offered this Fall - easy practical craft gifts for parents/grandparents/teachers/ friends . . .
Mom & Me Camp (by request)
Hey Moms & Daughters - create a special memory together making matching (or not!) tote bags for those trips to the Library, keeping music books together on the way to lessons, being "green" shoppers, keeping "essentials" in one place in the car . . . or, aprons to craft together or have fun in the kitchen together!
Backpack: Choose 1/2 yard of canvas-type home dec/upholstery fabric, 1 1/2 yards of 1" wide cotton webbing, and any embellishments you want to decorate it with (ribbon, faux fur, iron-on appliques).
Apron: Buy a solid color tea towel (Ben Franklin or Quilt Shop), coordinating extra wide double-fold seam binding, matching thread and 1/2 yd. of fabric for pockets. OR, make a full reversible apron (3/4 yd.of two coordinating fabrics, two pkg. of extra wide double-fold seam binding, matching thread).
Best of all . . . enjoy tea and scones for a 10:30 break!

I use the "Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design" curriculum -
the #1 sewing program for teaching kids to sew. The original sewing school program to be designed especially for kids!

We are SO proud of our daughter for winning two ribbons at the County Fair using the skills she learned at "The Happy Pin Sewing School!"
SW (mom of EW, age 9)
The class is really nice because you learn a whole bunch of things about sewing - I really liked making a nightie! And I like making crafts I can take home.
MC, age 8
I love 'Fabrics on Mill Street' and picking out my own fabric!
AA, age 11
I think it is a great class and it's fun for kids to make something they can actually wear!
SC (parent)
I like being able to make clothes for myself!
KN, age 9
I like sewing class because I love to sew! I want to design wedding dresses when I grow up.
SA, age 9
